Lua Faye feels “Hazy” in new song

“Hazy” is a new record by Washington, D.C. artist Lua Faye. While the R&B-pop track sounds so chill and upbeat, the lyrics portrays quite the opposite. The 21-year-old singer-songwriter says she wrote it at a time when she felt hypomanic (a state of mood characterized by increased energy, exhilaration and irritability), something that soon overwhelmed her to a point of being admitted to a mental hospital.

“…it’s funny because the song is pretty upbeat, it’s chill but the message is deceptively sad. I wrote it about my best friend who no longer wanted to speak to me. It was quite literally driving me crazy, hence the song title: Hazy. “

The singer’s emotion-filled vocals doesn’t betray her gloomy lyrics, either. The music video for “Hazy” will drop on August 22.
