We were introduced to Vumbi Dekula more than six years ago when they released their self-titled EP. The following year, the Swedish based outfit once again appeared on Aipate.

Led by Congolese guitarist Dekula “Vumbi” Kahanga, their music is Congolese rhumba and soukuos. Fans of these styles will certainly enjoy their latest single, “Slavery is crime”, which leans more towards rhumba. The song is both fun and thoughtful, with lyrics that address serious injustices.
